"Bogus Basin Youth Ski Patrol(BBYSP) Expectations, Limitations, Guidelines"

The youth patrol of Bogus Basin Ski Patrol is formed with the approval of area management, the patrol director, and is under the direct supervision of an adult patroller. The following expectations, limitations, and guidelines of youth patrollers are set forth with cooperation and agreement of the area management, patrol director, and volunteer board of directors.

Youth Candidate Patrollers will:

* 1. Be between 15 and 17 years of age upon registration as a candidate.

* 2. Pay all National Ski Patrol registration fees.

* 3. Be under the supervision of an Adult Trainer/Patroller at all Patrol functions.

* 4. Complete all National Ski Patrol (NSP) Outdoor Emergency Care, AED and CPR requirements.

  5. Successfully complete mandatory urinalysis testing.

* 6. Fulfill National Ski Patrol (NSP) on-the-hill and area training requirements in conjunction with adult Candidate Patrollers.

* 7. Demonstrate a positive, mature attitude toward patrolling, area management, Ski Patrol relations, and ski safety issues.

* 8. Be evaluated in conjunction with Adult Patrollers.

* 9. Wear the uniform of a Candidate Patroller without a first aid belt until voted into membership.

**10. Not exceed six annually.

Youth patrollers will:

* 1. Meet requirements 1-7 above.

* 2. Maintain a conscientious on-going development of skills in Emergency Care, skiing proficiency, and toboggan handling.

* 3. Be evaluated according to the same performance objectives as Adult Patrollers.

* 4. Be assigned by the Hill Captain to Patrol with an Adult Patroller at all times.

  5. Respond individually to an assignment at request of the Hill Captain or Patrol Director only.

  6. Be assigned a radio at the discretion of the Hill Captain.

* 7. Be prepared to act as a fully qualified Patroller under the supervision of an Adult Patroller when/where appropriate.

  8. Schedule and fulfill a minimum of 18 duty days.

* 9. Wear the area approved National Ski Patrol (NSP) uniform of a Basic Patroller.

**10. Not exceed 12 active, including candidates, annually.
